Ministry Training Course
At Christ Church we want all our members to be equipped for Christian service. Therefore, our Ministry Training Course is accessible to all, and we hope that everyone at Christ Church will be able to access some part of it. Non Christ Church people are most welcome.
This year we have broken the course down into modules, which means that you don't have to sign up for the whole year! Here's what's in store:
- A comprehensive overview of the whole Bible, teaching the Bible’s storyline and how it fits together.
- Evangelism training, practical tools to increase our confidence in sharing the gospel.
- Tools for Bible Handling, the basic tools for interpreting and applying the Bible.
- Preachers workshops, help with teaching the Bible to the congregation, home groups, or children groups.
- What Christians believe, an introduction to Christian doctrine.
- Pastoral Care, equipping people in need of change to help people in need of change.
- Medical Ethics, exploring issues such as abortion, euthanasia, and stem cell research.
- Pure sex, what the Bible teaches about sex and relationships.
- What to say when, considering some of the key questions which both believers and sceptics wrestle with.
- Building resilience, help with applying our core Christian values in the rough and tumble of life.
- Christians at work, exploring how to live out biblical principles in the workplace.
- Topics, addressing a variety of common questions Christian people have.
The course will run on a Monday night (see below for the programme), from 7.15 to 9.30. There will be two hour long sessions each evening, with a coffee break inbetween. If you have a look at the programme you will notice that in the second session there are two streams, therefore it's not possible to do everything.
The course will largely be lead by Christ Church staff, but also other members of the congregation who may have a particular area of expertise.
The course will begin on the 13th September 2010. Venue to be confirmed. If you would like to register your interest, please contact
